Happy Birthday to you happy birthday to you.....

Hi all!

My card for My Mums Craft Shop Challenges had to be inspired by a song.

So  this one we know very very well....Suitable for literally anyone!

I have been laid low by bad case of flu for over a week and this was all that my poor addled brain would let me come up with!  But hey it is a song and the card is cute!

I used a gorgeous Magnolia stamp and i was lucky enough to be given the doily by a friend.  I love the muted pastel colours and the lovely bow and ribbon embellishment as i didnt want to over crowd the card. I hand wrote the sentiment  in a pale blue gel pen.

I had a great tip the other week for taking photos and i think this week the photo has turned out quite well if i do say so myself!

Well thats all today as i am still not 100% but i will have quite a few cards lined up for you over the next few weks as i did manage to colour quite a few images when ill.

As always papers were from My Mums Craft Shop

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

PLEASE CAN I APOLOGISE TO ANY OTHER CHALLENGES I ENTERED BLOGGER LOST MY UPDATES!!!

Seasonal Sentiments

My Mums Craft Shop Challenges

Sentiment Only Card

Hi there and this week we had  to do a sentiment only card and i chose to do a  christmas card.

This week i made a card primarily using Hunky Dory cardstock snowflake, red adorable scorable and Holly mirricard.  I hand wrote a sentiment and sprayed it with iridescent glitter spray.

I then added a length of sequin ribbon and a bow made from the same ribbon to the card.
I added a  Spellbinders snowflake die cut  in gold glitter stick on paper and finished off with a lovely decorative stick pin.

I hope you like my card this week.

Betty's hop any Betty digi image

Betty's Hop Any Betty Image

I have taken a break from making christmas cards and decided to make this lovely card!

Ist a lovely  Simply Betty Stamps  digi called Movie Gala Betty

In case you havent noticed i am terrible at taking photos and they dont do this card justice by half!

This one was really simple i coloured the image in with copics and distressed with Tim Holtz inks called Dried Marigold and Tea Dye.

I decided to make the card by only using papers from one paper pad!

Which was first Editions New Leaf..... i stuck the striped background to the card blank ad then angled the next two layers so they were angled like how you would hold playing cards.

I then added my dgi image and used a Memory Box die called Rieviera Corner and a bit of orange cordinations card from the school days car pack to embellish.

I still wasnt quite happy with it so i added three white feathers, two sprays of ribbon in cream and peach and then finished off with Kaisercraft sparklets in daffodil....

So you can see from the blog list below that you should have seen all the other girlies first!
I hope you are enjoying your hop!

If not start at the beginning with Betty and work your way through!
Bye for now

I then finished off the image with a little bit of black lace and four cobweb charms placed at the corners....i have to admit i dont enjoy doing halloween cards as inver have much crafty stuff covering halloween in thefirst place and i have to scummage about for bits and pieces.

I distress Inked the edges of Rhi with Tim Holtz Broken China.

My very first posting on MMCS Challenge DT

Hi there and wlcome i am very very excited to welcome you today as this is my first posting as a member of My Mums Craft Shop Challenge DT crew.....so a very big hello and welcome!
This week we are sponsered by Di's Digi's and th theme is Tickets.

So today i have  a card depicting a lovely little digi stamp called swingtime by Di's Digi's.

I first started by colouring her in using Copics and then gently gave her a very light blue background and then distressed the edge of the card using Tim Holtz distress ink Spun Sugar.   I then found a lovely floral card pack by Cart US called Roses and mounted that onto my card blank followed by a pink piece of CoOrdinations card across the middle which i had already embossed using a  Darice embossing folder called Fall Leaf background and then gently sanded.  I then added lace to the top and bottom edge of the pink card.  I finished it off by adding my Di's digi stamp and three lovely paper flowers on the bottom right hand corner supporting my pink tickets saying Special friend and friends forever.

Well thats my first MMCS Challenge posting and i look forward to seeing what everyone does with their creations!

You will be glad to know that the  Copics, embossing folder, paper pack, Distress Ink and card blanks are all available from My Mums Craft Shop!

For the boys

Why is it that making a boys card is so hard?

There is so much embellishing you can do for a girl but when it comes to a boy i a totally stumped sometimes....crafters block!

Okey dokey i have two boys cards for you today......

Super Boy

They are both lovely digital images made by Mo's digital pencil and are available from her site www.mosdigitalpencil.com
They are absolutely fab and just right for the little super hero or knight in shining armout in the making!  Both hero's in their own right.
Super boy was first coloured in using copics(i lost the list of colours in the turmoil, so sorry)
I then  used Tim Holtx distress inks in stormy sky and China Blue to bring in a stormy sky.
I decided it needed alittle more so i sprayed the image (masked super boy first) with Crafters Companion Iridescent spray glitter and then added stars in silver and blue for a bit of bling he was then backed onto silver mirriboard and mounted onto a card blank that was coloured in 3 shades of Cosmic shimmer vintage mists........
Last but not least i added BROTHER and gilded it with Indigo Blu's Gilding flakes in.......
I thought it turned out rather well!

I would like to enter Super Boy into the following
Charisma Cards Challenge 39 Badda Bling
Mo's Digital challenge 155 anything goes

The Knight
So now we have another cutie Kitchen Knight

I firstly used paper for men for the background of the card.
I then mounted Kichen Knight (coloured in copics)
onto blue speckly card and then mirroboard before finally mounting him onto the card....I stamped in a festive flag along the top in celebration of our young brave knight and finished him off with a  mounted "Happy Birthday" and four silvery stars....

Not bad for a couple of boys cards .....

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges

Charisma Cards Challenge 39 Badda Bling
Mo's Digital challenge 155 anything goes

So that me done and i am now going to get to grips with the new computer that has just arived to replace the old one.

Things with wings ( fairy girl)

Well this is my last blog entry today and it will also be my last challenge entry of the day

Lovely little stamp from CC designs

So i firstly coloured this lovely image with copics and then inked the edges with Tim Holtz Distress inks in Spun sugar and Milled Lavender
She was then mounted onto  vellum that wa die cut using Spellbinders dies.

All the papers used were from a My Minds Eye 12 x 12 paper pad called Lost & Found

I then added a Papermania sticky border that i have become fond of for some reason.
I wanted to add flowers but decided not too as i thought i t would overload the card.
Iknow plain and simple but it works! :-)

I would like to enter this card into Charisma Cards

HUNKY DORY CHRISTMAS

I love making cards from scratch but sometimes you need to cheat a little to keep up with demand....I have quite a few crafting/christmas  events coming up first one being this week and i have done quite a few from the Hunky Dory christams toppers range....So here is one i made earlier!
I love their adorable scorable card and yeas it does what it says on the tin...

I used some of their lovely backing card, quite a bit of foil and matteed and layered and then popped a decoupaged winter scene ontop along with a matching sentiment (bought seperately) I dilded the edges with silver gilding flakes and finished it of with (ssshhhh dont tell Hunky Dory) Kanban blingy snowflakes.....i love the colours of the card and think they have worked well together.

Hi ya

today someone asked for a girly Tattyteddy card so we aim to please sont we! i had originally coloured in an image and mucked it up when i was cutting it out so this topper i had came in very useful.

Colouring with copics for the first time

So have managed to personalise my blog to a point now i just have to figure how to upload pics etc...that is so gonna be fun!

Any way i have recently had a class at stamp and craft in colouring with promarkers that can also be used for your copics.  Totally enjoyed it and Beth was really helpful. One of the main basics in colouring is you start with your dark colour first wherver the shading is darkest and lay that colour down first using small strokes.  Then you use your mid colour brushing again with strokes over the  dark colour and onto the next area you want to cover (so basically you always go over the work you have already done). And last but not least you go over eith your lightest colour.  Take an overall look at your stamped image and then add any finishing touches to it. This was the total opposite to what i had already been taught and was a bit sceptical to start with.  The blending was really good and better than what i had already done in the past.  Any way the result was the above Kenny K didgistamp that i coloured with copics and made into a 16th birthday card for my son.  He liked it so much he framed it!

Thats it for today more to come!

Sunday 15 July 2012
