Happy Fathers Day with Indigo Blu

This week at Creative Creations Challenges we were lucky enough to be sponsored by Indigo Blu

So welcome and i hope you like my card!

I stamped the man in top hat image from part of my Indigo Blu collection Pomp and Pageantry onto a oval nestabilite and used TH distress inks in gathered twigs and  scattered straw to just edge it and make it complement the colour scheme i had chosen.

I used an 8x8 Kraft card and a pieces of paper from my stash in brown and a mustard colour. I then took a white piece of paper and flitter glued a background using the Union Jack and used Lancashire Rose gilding flakes to get the background.  A lovely effect for sure!I then used Gold brilliance ink pad to stamp great britain onto the background.

I stamped Father's day onto a tag and then edged it with flitter glu and used chariot of fire gilding flakes to finish of the edges...

I enjoyed playing with the Indigo Blu stuff although it does take a bit of practice with the gilding flakes and and antistatic cloth is a must (tumble dryer cloths work just as well)

I have a second card for you today hope you like:

i used a stepper card and covered it with My Minds Eye - Lost and Found Two
then stamped six Union Jacks and distressed them in various blues..Tim Holtz Weathered Wood,Faded \jeans, Broken China and Stormy Sky. I mounted them in a fan shape on two steps and added the top hat man and the lion from Pomp and Pageantry...and then stamped the sentiment Quintessentially English for the top right of the card.

Well i hope you have a look at the Indigo Blu website as there is some wonderful things you can buy and play with.....i now how five types of gilding flakes and Ella Bella and i think given time (and money of course) could get quite addicted.....i especially want to try their Ice Resin and Kroma crackle.....my fingers are itching...lol

  5. Wow, what a stunner. Love all the gilding flakes, and the way you have edged your main image to blend it into the background. Also really like your stepper card.

Hope you don't mind my pointing out, but the flag you have used is not the English flag. It's the Union Flag, or more commonly called the Union Jack. The English flag is just a plain red cross against a plain white background, known as St. George's Cross. The Union Flag combines the English St George's Cross with the Scottish white Saltire against a blue background, known as St. Andrew's Cross and the two combined make the Union Flag.

Apologies for the lesson in flags!

Thanks for sharing your lovely creation with us
